Canoeing
The Little Sioux River is home to the Inkpaduta Canoe Trail that runs from Spencer, in Clay County to Smithland, in southern Woodbury County. The span of the canoe trail is approximately 134 miles in length. The trail is characterized by safe, convenient public access areas in each county.

Fishing
The Little Sioux River is a very popular fishing destination in Northwest Iowa. Major species that can be caught include catfish, walleye, and northern pike.
